Public installation // 2020

Klabaut refers to the Klabauterman: a ships spirit that helped the ships carpenter to find the weak spots on the ship by knocking and in that way helped protect the ship. According to the myths the Klabautermann became visible when the ship was about to founder. The installation relates to the old and closed down shipyard at Vordingborg Northern Harbour that is now left to decay. Within this frame the Klabautermann manifests with an omen of the end and takes a last time to show its appreciation of the place. The Klabaut installation brings the spirit of the place to live for at last while.

During the exhibition period the outdoor installation will decay and perish.
